Tinos Foodpaths

Tinos  Foodpaths has become an institution!

It began in 2015 as an action of the caterer’s union, which represents all catering and recreation businesses. The aim of this organization is to point out the Gastronomic Wealth of Tinos through the synergies in the field of gastronomy with local producers. The extroversion of this wealth -cultural factor of the island- concerns everyone,  whether the small coffee house in the village square or in a narrow alley of Chora, or even the fanciest seaside restaurant.

In an era when food- and everything connected with it- are an indefeasible part of our cultural identity, Tinos Foodpaths is a collaborative effort to “introduce” our local products, our gastronomic treasure to our guests, either Greek or foreigners.

People’s reaction to the two previous organizations was more than positive. Hundreds of volunteers as well as many associations of the island, embraced our attempt. Many people helped and supported us with great pleasure, being themselves volunteers in every action. Tinos Foodpaths has many friends in places other than Tinos. Our official page in Facebook has already 2060 likes.

But what exactly is Tinos Foodpaths ?

 

Cheeses, prepared meat products and sweets. Local drinks, traditional recipes as well as creative recipes , based on the exceptional products of Tinos, are demonstrated and offered to the visitors of Tinos Foodpaths . A gastronomic festival, a big company sharing ideas and tastes!

This year, Tinos Foodpaths  will take place from 8 to 14 May and for the first time it will last for a whole week.

 

During the event, Tinian breakfast will be promoted and both cooking and pastry making recipes will be provided live, based on traditional products ( sweets, prepared meat products, herbs, honey etc ), which will be introduced in special showcases giving information for each product.
