Private traditional cheese dairy
The private traditional cheese dairy SAN LORENZO is situated in the entry of Kehros. It’s a small yet hospitable village, which is built at the foot of Kehrovouni, 10km away from the port of Tinos. Kehros distinguishes for its pretty traditional little houses and the church of Virgin Mary Ksesklavostra (the Liberator), with its imposing bell tower. This village is well known for the Art of “stratourades” (the packsaddle makers) that bloomed in past years. Also for the great number of confectioners and paint decorators who work in Tinos and elsewhere.
The cheese dairy has been constructed with love. It has already begun to produce different kinds of cheese in an outstanding traditional but also modern way. The way cheese has been always made at home by the women of the village.
