Hard cheese with a sweet distinctive flavour, usually with solid mass and beautiful yellow to yellowish color. It is produced in the traditional cheese factory of the Agricultural Cooperative of Tinos from local cows’ milk without additives and it is the evolution of the old “boiled cheese” of Tinos.
It is a first quality hard cheese.
The Gruyere of Tinos is an excellent table cheese and gives great taste to the various pies, where it is added. It can be used as a table cheese, for Saganaki, as grated cheese or even for pizzas and toasts.
