Situated in a beautiful location with endless views to the sea, this summer residence constitutes a retreat of relaxation just a few meters away from Aghios Romanos beach. Thanks to its distinctive design and configuration, it allows for welcoming interior spaces as well as liveable outdoor areas, protected from the island’s usual severe winds.
Well-balanced proportions, inspired by the local architecture and earthly textures of natural materials such as wood, white plaster and stone, make up a harmonious result, while the rotation of the western part of the house offers an interesting twist to the building complex. The design of the outdoor areas and the wisely selected plant species, complement the buildings nicely, achieving functional advantages and cohesive aesthetics.
The main house features the kitchen in the western block, with direct access to the dining and living room, which constitute the ‘heart’ of the building. The generous windows and glazed terrace doors offer stunning views to all rooms of the residence and conveniently connect the interior and exterior spaces, while the corner fireplace adds an impressive curved feature in the living space.
Slightly curved surfaces of white plaster and minimal plastered flooring create a relaxed atmosphere in the interior of the house, while the custom built-in furniture and wooden ceilings with traditional beams add a warm local vibe. The two spacious bedrooms in the eastern part of the building follow the same style, with built-in beds and hand-crafted closets, as well as two private bathrooms.
A few steps away from the main building, there is a self-contained guesthouse, constituting of a single-space stone building with a charming private terrace, which manages to provide all the necessary amenities in just a few square meters. It is set up as a studio, with a custom built-in bed, a kitchenette and ensuite bathroom, offering just as much comfort as required, to enjoy carefree vacations with a wonderful view.
