An interesting and special event is given birth in Tinos. An original event for Tinos standards. A 7day cultural sports festival. A climbing festival addressed to Greek and foreign climbers, which will take place from September 26 to October 2 of 2016. Climbers from the entire international climbing community have been invited to meet the climbing areas of our island. The sports climbing field of Exobourgo with approximately 90 routes of various difficulty levels, for both beginners and experienced climbers, is found in Tinos along with the vast and special bouldering field which is spread from Kakia Skala to Volax area and Livada beach. What makes truly unique these specific fields, is the granite which is not so commonly found in climbing areas, together with the natural environment of Volax and Kakia Skala with the countless round-shaped granite rocks, which form a rare nature phenomenon worldwide.
The participants in the festival will compete in both rock climbing with ropes and bouldering. On the last day of the festival, a fest with meal, music and dance included, will be held in one of the traditional villages of our island, for all people who will have taken part while souvenir medallions and participation diplomas will be also awarded. The climbing festival constitutes a full vacations package where participants will be having the opportunity to get to know all beautiful aspects of Tinos, visit dozens of picturesque villages , walk along the vast hiking network of the island, explore the beaches, taste the unique Tinian gastronomy and of course, to have fun by climbing on the granite rocks.
