The project concerns the redesign internally and construction of one of the houses in an existing seaside complex of rentals in Tinos under the name Achipelagotinos.
Two-level house with all modern amenities, with an open plan living room, kitchen, dining room and two bedrooms of which one master in the first level and one more master in the second level.
The exploitation of the view, the purity of the form, the brightness and extroversion for optimal connection to the external environment were key objectives of the design.
The selection of materials and design lines fulfill and highlight the above objectives.
A sheathed line in the living room-kitchen zone, crimping reinforced concrete with final surface of white cement mortar unfolds, starting as a base of the staircase, becoming then a kitchen countertop, then shelf of the living room and finally dining table, unifying in this way the space in one move.
The suspension of the table, the embedding of the bedroom and bathroom stalls on the walls and the construction of the base of the beds with their bedside tables as levels that are “on the air”, in order to avoid support on feet and surfaces, emphasize the visual consistency of the space that acquires a light minimalist feel.
In the same logic, the staircase, a crimp of thin sheet metal painted black with a vertical glass surface instead of railing completes the overall design.
A wood surface, background of the living room-kitchen area “hides” inside a wardrobe and the entrance to the hallway to the bathroom and the two bedrooms.
The minimalism and lighting of the space is highlighted by the choice of white and wood and their contrast with the grey cement floor, the black staircase and a number of selected details in black color such as the suspension of the table that turns into a light for the table.
