TRELA means “Madness” in greek. The madness of a French woman in love with Tinos, the impulse she had to buy a house, the urge to live there, and give back the true happiness that she found on this Island.

TRELA curate a subtle selection of antique objects and contemporary pieces that tell the story of France and Greece creating the bridge between today and yesterday and reflecting the two cultures.

Contemporary: lighting produced by The Gentle Factory, vintage creations in recycled paper by Aris Sotiriou, furniture and lights in recycled cardboard by Papercuts, ceramics from 3 Some Ceramics, Katerina Latoufi, Kyri Ceramics, …, handblow glasses from La Soufflerie, vintage creations in recycled paper by Aris Sotiriou or old fabric by Martine Persault, but also French designers with roots in the island of Tinos such as ceramists Nathalie Borst, Gilles & Catherine Gautry or Atelier 17 Août...,

Antiques : from a 1950’s post office desk, to a 19th century greek Jar and paintings, a collection of Tinos old postcards, to antique rugs from the Kozani area or Thessaloniki, typical tavern tables, furniture reflecting Greek craftsmanship restored by Carol herself in a dedicated workshop near the port.

TRELA is

TRELA is an unexpected, eclectic, accessible selection of timeless objects, found along Carol’s travelling adventures. The common thread of it all is beauty and emotion.

Trela is also an exclusive collaboration with Manuela Bonnet from the graphic studio God Save the Screen as part of her line inspired by Tinos. This very graphic collection imagined with four hands comes in the form of candles, T-shirts, cushions, beach bags and soon terracotta tableware.

Trela is an unexpected, eclectic, accessible selection of timeless objects, found at the whim of peregrinations. One thing that all have in common: beauty, emotion. TRELA is a bridge between the Ephemeral and the memory, the fragility of life and the power of history, the past and the projects, nostalgia and dream. TRELA is a place of wonder where you, traveler or local, stop, dream, flip through an old greek history book, enjoy a contemporary photography, meet travelers and locals for dialogue…

TRELA is the gift of happiness !
